Classroom Limits (Beta)
The current free-beta limits — students, assignments, AI credits, files, and student designs — and what happens when you hit one.
SkillPark School Mode is free during the beta. These are the current limits.

AI credits are what making cards with AI uses. A typical 15-card deck from a few pages of notes costs about 5–8 credits, so 400 credits is roughly 50 AI decks a month. The wizard shows an estimate before you click, and the exact amount after the cards arrive. Writing cards yourself is always free and never counts.

What happens at each limit
- 36th student tries to join → they see a “classroom is full” message; nothing breaks for existing students. Remove inactive students from the roster to free seats.
- 6th publish → blocked until you archive the classroom or an assignment. A term rarely needs more than 5 concurrently active review decks — retiring last month’s assignment is usually right anyway.
- AI credits used up → the AI will not draft new cards until the 1st of next month. The classroom page and the wizard show how many credits are left and the reset date. You can still write and edit cards by hand without limit, so an assignment is never stuck on credits.
- A run needs more credits than you have left → the wizard says so before anything is charged. Use shorter material or fewer cards, or write cards yourself.

Will this stay free?
The beta is genuinely free — no card required, no trial countdown. When paid plans arrive, the free tier stays (with limits like the above), and we’ll give pilot teachers generous notice before anything changes. See Beta Status & Pricing.
