For Self-Learners

Self-Learner Quick Start

The daily loop for learning on your own — save what you learned, review your cards, grow the park.

No teacher, no classroom — just you and whatever you’re studying. The self-learner loop takes about five minutes a day.

1. Save what you learned

After studying anything — a chapter, a tutorial, a lecture, a work doc — open app.skillpark.app and save a short summary in your own words (10–5,000 characters).

SkillPark then:

  • extracts the key concepts from your summary,
  • writes quiz cards for them,
  • and files everything into a building for that topic in your park (new topic → new building; familiar topic → the existing building grows).

Writing the summary yourself isn’t busywork — summarizing from memory is itself one of the strongest study techniques (Active Recall). The free beta allows 5 saves per day, which is more studying than most of us manage.

2. Review daily

Each day, SkillPark serves the cards that are due — the ones you’re on the edge of forgetting. Answer them:

  • Correct → the card retreats: 1 day → 3 days → a week → weeks → months.
  • Wrong → it returns tomorrow until it sticks.

That’s the SM-2 spaced-repetition algorithm deciding the schedule, so you never waste time re-reading what you already know.

3. Watch the park grow

Every correct answer earns bricks. Bricks upgrade buildings through four tiers — Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary. Daily activity charges your pickaxe (better pickaxe = more bricks per answer), and consecutive days build a streak multiplier up to 2.5×.

A realistic week

Day What you do Time
Mon Study something; save a summary 3 min to save
Tue Review 4 due cards 2 min
Wed Study more; save; review 6 cards 5 min
Thu Review 3 cards 90 sec
Fri Review 8 cards, level a building to Rare 4 min

The magic isn’t any single day — it’s that in March you’ll still remember what you studied in September.
